(Alliance News) - Omer Spa announced on Thursday that it has started operations for a new order received from the CAF group as part of the "RER - B Line" project in Paris, developed in consortium with Alstom.
The order is for the supply of interiors for 146 trains, with deliveries starting in 2025 and completion expected by 2030.
The order value will contribute between 1% and 2% to Omer's order book, compared to a backlog of EUR164 million as of December 31, 2024.
The "MI20" project, requested and financed by Île-de-France Mobilités, involves the replacement of the current fleet of MI79 and MI84 trains operating on the RER B line, which connects Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle and Orly airports and serves 47 stations over approximately 80 km.
Giuseppe Russello, President and CEO of Omer, commented: "The award of this order with CAF for the strategic MI20 project on the Paris RER B line marks a new step in our growth strategy.
"We are particularly proud to be able to contribute, with our innovative and high-quality interior solutions, to improving the travel experience of the many passengers on a line that is so crucial to mobility in the Paris region."
"We are also particularly pleased to be part of this consortium with partners of excellence such as Alstom and CAF, and look forward to a fruitful and long-lasting collaboration on future projects. This contract further demonstrates our expertise and ability to respond to the specific needs of complex and strategic projects, opening up new and promising prospects for international collaboration," concluded Omer's CEO.
