The prices for homes have skyrocketed over the course of the pandemic. All cash offers have become increasingly popular. Sellers love cash offers because the deal can close quickly and they don't have to worry about a buyer not qualifying for a mortgage in the end. So cash offers are powerful, but they aren't doable for the average homebuyer.

These sorts of companies will offer to purchase a home on behalf of an average buyer in cash so you don't have to worry about competing with investors or wealthy buyers beating them out with a cash bid. Sounds too good to be true, right? Well, NPR reporter Chris Arnold joins the podcast to help us learn why this might actually be a paradigm shift in the way people buy homes.
