With Oracle Cloud Infrastructure MPay gains a secure, realiable and scalable foundation to help move small and medium sized businesses online.

ManagePay Systems Berhad (MPay), Malaysia's leading fintech and payment solution enterprise, has selected Oracle Cloud to help it improve its customer experience and deliver on its brand promise of being a trusted partner for Malaysia's small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs). With Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) MPay now has a reliable, secure and scalable platform underpinning core applications within its digital ecosystem that enables Malaysia's small businesses to trade online

Brands that benefit from this move include:

BuyMalaysia.com, a comprehensive e-commerce marketplace facilitating sales of Malaysian products under a brand strongly associated with authenticity.

ECPOS, a Point-of-Sales business giving sellers the ability to provide consumers with digital receipts.

Sunway Licence Plate Registration, the largest fully integrated license plate recognition system and smart parking system in Malaysia that supports multiple e-wallet payment methods to enable a hassle-free transaction experience for its patrons.

Datuk Chew Chee Seng, MPay Founder and Managing Director, said: 'SMEs are losing out in digital economy - most can't afford the high cost of developing the technology to digitise their businesses and lack the talent to operate and maintain such systems. We provide a complete ecosystem to help level the playing field and bring their products to market digitally. This is increasingly essential given the current environment and growing pressures to continue to operate online. We chose Oracle Cloud because its performance, reliability, predictable low cost and strong security credentials.'

By moving the web applications delivering these services to OCI, MPay has gained a number of benefits. For BuyMalaysia, it was able to consolidate and reduce the amount of compute required by half, while at the same time increasing the application's performance. Overall, the organisation has gained a 30 percent cost saving by migrating to cloud, and the web businesses involved have been able to operate more reliably given the resulting 99.97 percent uptime rate.

In addition to the performance and cost benefits, using OCI has made it easier for MPay to operate a hybrid cloud architecture. With a seven year history of using Oracle Database, MPay will continue to leverage its existing on-premise data management capabilities, and stay compliant with government regulations around data sovereignty. MPay is now looking for additional ways to leverage the public cloud for other aspects of its business.

'Fintech organisations play a critical role in delivering on Malaysia's vision of becoming a digital economy,' said Fitri Abdullah, Managing Director of Oracle Malaysia. 'MPay is changing the game for SMEs in adopting key digital capabilities to improve their overall competitiveness in this fast becoming digital world. We are delighted to deepen our collaboration with MPay as they expand in the market and are looking forward to leveraging Oracle Cloud Solution Hub in Kuala Lumpur to deliver innovative Cloud technologies to accelerate the pace of transformation.'

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure delivers on-premises, high-performance computing power to run cloud native and enterprise company's IT workloads. It provides real-time elasticity for enterprise applications by combining Oracle's autonomous services, integrated security, and serverless compute. The solution is designed for companies looking for lower costs, and easier cloud migrations for their existing on-premises applications, and better price-performance for cloud native workloads.
