Eutelsat signed a multiyear agreement with Orange to strengthen the French telecommunication company's position in low Earth orbit satellite communications.

Through the partnership, Orange seeks to reinforce its satellite portfolio with LEO connectivity solutions using Eutelsat's OneWeb constellation, the satellite company said Thursday.

The deal will also enable the telecommunication group to deliver seamless service and enhanced security as part of a digital inclusion approach for businesses, allowing access to critical services even in remote areas, it added.

"It is of strategic importance for Orange to invest in the unique low Earth orbit European solution that provides best in class, resilient, tailored and sovereign digital connectivity services to serve our customers wherever they are located," Executive Vice President of Orange International Networks Jean Louis Le Roux said. "The partnership with Eutelsat for OneWeb services is of vital importance to support their digital transformation."
