Eutelsat and Orange have signed a partnership to consolidate Orange's position in low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite telecommunications through Eutelsat's OneWeb satellite constellation.
This new agreement aims to develop Orange's satellite connectivity services using Eutelsat's LEO solutions for business and government customers, as well as to meet the backhaul needs of mobile operators.
"By combining OneWeb's satellite coverage with its terrestrial networks, Orange will benefit from optimal service continuity and enhanced security guarantees," the group said.
Orange added that this technology will enable it to offer its customers, wherever they are, digital connectivity services that are high-performance, resilient, sovereign and perfectly tailored to their needs. The collaboration with Eutelsat around OneWeb services is of paramount importance if we want to support our customers in their digital transformation.
