Organización Cultiba, S.A.B. de C.V. reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended September 30, 2017. For the quarter, the company reported net sales of MXN 4,988 million compared to MXN 4,615 million a year ago. Income from operations was MXN 185 million compared to MXN 100 million a year ago. Income before tax provisions was MXN 144 million compared to MXN 54 million a year ago. Net income was MXN 134 million compared to net loss of MXN 13 million a year ago. EBITDA was MXN 515 million compared to MXN 333 million a year ago. Net Debt by the end of third quarter was MXN 139 million.
For the nine months, the company reported net sales of MXN 15,690 million compared to MXN 13,720 million a year ago. Income from operations was MXN 628 million compared to MXN 552 million a year ago. Income before tax provisions was MXN 496 million compared to MXN 352 million a year ago. Net income was MXN 335 million compared to MXN 88 million a year ago. EBITDA was MXN 1,663 million compared to MXN 1,355 million a year ago. Capital expenditures through September 30, 2017 were MXN 187 million, compared to MXN 2,489 million in the first nine months of 2016.
Organizacion Cultiba SAB de CV (Cultiba) is a Mexico-based holding company principally engaged, together with its subsidiaries, in the beverages industry. The Company has license from Pepsi-Co Inc to produce, distribute and sell mainly the Pepsi Cola, Manzanita Sol, Mirinda, Kas, Gatorade, Lipton, Be Light, Mountain Dew and Seven Up soft drink trademarks. The Company also produces and distributes bottled water under the Trisoda, Santorini and Junghanns brands, among others. In addition, the Company is involved in the production of cane sugar and molasses. The Company owns such subsidiaries as Geusa SA de Tala Electric SA de CV, Agroestevia SA de CV, Geupec Administracion SA de CV, Ingenio Rosales SA de CV and Embotelladora Valle de Oaxaca SA de CV, among others. On August 31, 2013, Cultiba incorporated Grupo Azucarero Mexico SA de CV (GAM) and Controladora de Negocios Azucareros SA de CV (CONASA).
