Origin and Woolworths launch energy rewards plan that includes support for greener energy

Origin Energy and Everyday Rewards have today launched an Australian first co-branded energy plan that provides customers with a great rate for their energy, Everyday Rewards points for the energy they use, and supports renewable energy generation.

Everyday Rewards members can earn at least 10,000 bonus points when they sign up to a dual energy Origin Everyday Rewards Plan - at least 5,000 points for electricity and 5,000 points for natural gas. Members also earn one point for every dollar of energy usage and supply charged on their account^[1].

The Origin Everyday Rewards Plan provides members with great rates on energy usage and supply, equal to Origin's current best online offer. Members also get the benefit of supporting renewable energy generation at no additional cost, with the inclusion of 25 per cent GreenPower on the electricity plan. This means the equivalent amount of certified renewable energy is added to the grid for 25 per cent of electricity used.

Earlier this year, Woolworths Group became Australia's first retailer to have its emission reduction targets endorsed by the global Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). Woolworths Group has lowered emissions by 24 per cent on 2015 levels, and committed to net-zero emissions by 2050.

Origin was the first Australian company, and remains the only energy company in the country, to have emissions reduction targets endorsed by the SBTi, committing to halving Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 2032. Origin also aims to achieve net-zero emissions across its business by 2050. Origin is a leader in the provision of clean energy to Australians, as one of the largest providers of GreenPower and Green Gas and, having installed more than 1.3 million solar panels on rooftops.

Everyday Rewards members can save $10 on their next eligible shop when their balance hits 2,000 points, bank their savings for Christmas or convert to Qantas Points. The Everyday Rewards app makes it easier for members to activate points boost offers, discover personalised specials and check their points balance on the go. Members can also earn points and redeem 4c per litre discount vouchers at participating fuel sites.
