Statement from Origin's Head of Retail, Jon Briskin regarding story on A Current Affair on Thursday, 11 March, 2021

Tonight, Channel 9's A Current Affair featured a story about one of our customers in Sydney - Three Pillars Church in NSW who do amazing work in the community providing food hampers for people in need.

When they received their first energy bill for a second warehouse they set up to help meet demand, they were surprised to find that it was much higher than their first warehouse, despite the second site containing less equipment. So they immediately contacted us to look into it for them.

Unfortunately, despite our best intentions to help this customer, we took too long to arrange an inspection of their meter and get to the bottom of the higher energy bill.

We have since apologised to the customer, waived their most recent bill and will work with them to get to the bottom of what is causing the high usage at their second site.
