Orsted AS said Wednesday that it was awarded a contract for difference by the Polish energy regulator to its offshore wind farms with a total capacity of 2.5 gigawatts.

The Danish renewable energy developer said the contracts awarded by the Polish Energy Regulatory Office will be serviced by the Polish part of its Baltic Sea wind farms, Baltica 3 and Baltica 2.

"Baltica 3 and 2 will contribute significantly to Poland's green energy transition, accelerate the development of the local supply chain and spur economic activity for many years to come," the company said.
