The Raritan, New Jersey-based company said it had net income of 6 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to 21 cents per share.
The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 14 cents per share.
The provider of in vitro diagnostics services posted revenue of $522.5 million in the period.
Ortho Clinical expects full-year earnings in the range of 76 cents to 78 cents per share, with revenue in the range of $2 billion to $2.02 billion.
