Austrian Post has acquired the remaining 74% shareholding in the Romanian company Postmaster
s.r.l. *, which is the leading alternative postal services provider in Romania. In October 2011 Austrian Post had already acquired a 26% stake, and now increased its interest in the firm to 100%.  

Accordingly, Austrian Post has taken a further step towards implementing its growth strategy, and concluded its entry in one of the largest CEE markets. The parties to the transaction have agreed to maintain confidentiality with respect to the purchase price.


POSTMASTER S.R.L.
Postmaster s.r.l. headquartered in Bucharest was founded in the year 2007, and is already the leading alternative postal provider on the Romanian markets. The core business of the company is delivering direct mail items (advertising mail) weighing more than 50 gr. As a consequence, the company already has a very good starting position for the upcoming postal market liberalisation in Romania as of the year 2013 and a solid basis for future growth. As the top alternative postal company, Postmaster also delivers unaddressed direct mail items throughout Romania. In the year 2011, Postmaster s.r.l. generated revenue of about EUR 10m, employing a delivery staff of close to 1,700 people delivering some 300m unaddressed direct mail items and about 20m addressed direct mail items.
