OT-Optima Telekom announced consolidated earnings results for the first quarter ended March 2016. For the quarter, the company turned to a consolidated net profit of HRK 4.02 million in the first three months of 2016, from a net loss of HRK 2.4 million last year. Total operating revenues increased 4.1% to HRK 112.05 million through March, while consolidated earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) dropped 5.2% to HRK 23.4 million.

Total revenues from telecommunications services jumped 5% in the first quarter of 2016 on the back of revenue growth from interconnections and Internet services. The company achieved 30.4% growth in revenues generated from interconnections, while Internet-generated income increased 17.8%. Revenue growth, however, was capped by a decrease in income derived from public voice services in the amount of 15.5%.

Consolidated capital expenditures amounted to HRK 13.5 million in the months through March. A combined HRK 9.7 million was invested in the development of the optical access network, expansion of the network collocation, and IPTV and Internet equipment.
