ITEM 8.01 Other Events.

Notice of Redemption of 3.90% Notes due 2021

On July 15, 2021, Ovintiv Inc. issued a news release announcing that it has issued a notice to the trustee of its 3.90% notes due 2021 (the "2021 Notes") to redeem the entire $517,823,000 aggregate principal amount of the outstanding 2021 Notes. The 2021 Notes will be redeemed, pursuant to their terms and conditions, on August 16, 2021. A copy of the news release is attached as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report on Form 8-K. This Current Report on Form 8-K does not constitute a notice of redemption with respect to the 2021 Notes.
