OX2 hands over the Metsälamminkangas wind farm to Nordic energy companies Lundin Energy and Sval Energi. With 24 wind turbines and a total capacity of 132 MW, Metsälamminkangas is the third largest wind farm commissioned in Finland

OX2 and Lundin Energy signed an agreement in January 2020 to construct the Metsälamminkangas wind farm in the municipality of Vaala, North Ostrobothnia, Finland. Sval Energi became a co-owner of the wind farm during its construction phase. The wind farm was handed over to the clients on March 31.
The wind farm's annual energy production is 400 GWh, which corresponds to the annual electricity consumption of more than 80,000 households (5,000 kWh/household).
"Finland is the fastest growing market for wind power in Europe and we are proud to hand over the third largest wind farm and our largest completed project in the country.”, says Paul Stormoen, CEO, OX2 AB.
OX2 has developed and constructed the Metsälamminkangas wind farm under an EPC agreement (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) and will remain responsible for the technical and commercial management of the wind farm.
OX2 currently has 800 MW of new wind power capacity under construction in Finland and 12 wind farms in technical and commercial management. One of the projects under construction is what will be Finland's largest wind power project in Lestijärvi.
