Palantir Technologies Inc. Tuesday posted a loss in the first quarter, though revenue rose on improvements in sales to commercial and government customers.
The Denver-based data-analysis company posted a net loss attributable to common stockholders of 7 cents a share, compared with a loss of 10 cents a share in 2020's first quarter. The total net loss was $123.5 million, compared with a net loss of $54.3 million in the year-ago period.
Adjusting for one-time items, the company's profit was 4 cents a share, in line with analysts' forecasts compiled by FactSet.
Revenue rose to $341.2 million, from $229.3 million in the year-ago quarter. Analysts were expecting revenue of $332 million.
U.S. commercial revenue rose by 72% year over year, while U.S. government revenue was 83% higher, the company said.
