21.01.2022 TMK presents Chelpipe's pipe production facilities to leaders of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade and Russian Ministry of Finance

Viktor Evtukhov, State Secretary, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, and Alexey Sazanov, State Secretary, Deputy Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation, were shown around the modern facilities of Chelyabinsk Pipe Plant (Chelpipe) by Dmitry Pumpyanskiy, Chairman of TMK's Board of Director.

During the working visit, the guests were taken to the production area for large diameter pipes at the Vysota 239 shop, which has an annual capacity of 1 million tonnes of pipe. The shop is equipped with automated high-tech equipment, including two JCO forming presses capable of manufacturing 12 and 18 meter long pipes, as well as an edge-crimping press which can handle up to 48 mm thick metal sheets.

The delegation also visited ETERNO, which is located at Chelpipe's site and produces pressed and welded elements for pipelines and customized products for the new heavy engineering lineup. ETERNO is capable of performing over 50 processes at temperatures ranging from +20 °C to +1,050 °C as well as handling metal and rolled metal products up to 200 mm thick, 4,500 mm wide, and 30,000 mm long.

The representatives of the federal ministries praised Chelpipe's capabilities highly, noting the innovative solutions, highly professional employees, and the plant's extensive experience in major Russian and international infrastructure projects.

Viktor Yevtukhov said: "We see that Russian metals companies are investing heavily in building new advanced and sustainable operations, including state-of-the-art technology and operating processes. TMK is the leader of the global pipe industry. While being the largest company to manufacture pipe and tubular products, TMK has also become a machine building giant. The company's products are not just supplied to the oil and gas industry but also to a variety of other industries. Enterprises such as TMK give rise to industrial clusters that spring up around them in their operating regions, as they provide a market for smaller companies that produce related equipment, components and software, creating additional jobs and new production facilities. This is very important."

Alexey Sazanov emphasized: "Today we were given a guided tour of Chelyabinsk Pipe Plant to see its processes and products and learn about its development objectives. Last year, significant changes were made to the tax regime for the metals industry. It is important for us to see on the ground how these tax changes will affect production, and the results of their implementation in practice."
