Louisville-based Biscuit Belly has hooked up with Chuck Schnatter, who helped grow Papa John's to over 4,000 units, to launch a franchise program. The brainchild of pharmacist-turned-restaurateur, Chad Coulter, Biscuit Belly operates three locations in Louisville and is hoping to hit 20 to 25 by the end of 2021.

"Ever since we opened the first Biscuit Belly in 2019, we've been blown away by the success and knew we had something special. With lines wrapped around the block and a loyal stream of social media followers, Biscuit Belly has grown into something bigger than we ever could have imagined," Coulter, founder and CEO of Biscuit Belly, said in company press release.

Schnatter is brother to John Schnatter, who founded Papa John's.

"We've built a really great team to support our franchising launch including industry legend, Chuck Schnatter, who will provide top-notch franchisee support," Coulter said. "Biscuit Belly prides itself on creating an inclusive environment where southern hospitality reigns supreme and we look forward to spreading that same hospitality across the country."

The chain, which serves breakfast and brunch featuring scratch-made biscuit sandwiches, breakfast cocktails and other southern breakfast fare with a twist, is seeking experienced multi-unit operators to develop franchise territories in new markets throughout the Midwest and Southern regions.
