With a population of over 270 million, Indonesia is the fourth most populous country in the world and non-communicable diseases, such as cancer, dominate the mortality rate - with cancer showing a rising trend.

The government implemented health insurance system covers more than 80% of the Indonesian population and in the near future, it hopes to reach the entire population. It is currently one of the largest single-payer systems in the world, which has provided hundreds of millions of Indonesians with access to health insurance. This is key to easing the country’s cancer burden by ensuring early screening and diagnosis.
