The takeover of management of Ängelholm Helsingborg Airport by local government was finalized today, Tuesday, when Peab and Ängelholm och Helsingborg flygplats Holding AB signed the contract. Going forward Peab will only own the land and airport buildings.

Peab divests the company Ängelholm flygplats AB as of September 1, 2020.

When previously this year Peab decided to close the airport after the corona pandemic led to a dramatic reduction in air traffic the discussions that were already in progress with seven municipalities to take over the airport intensified. Last week it became clear that all seven city councils had voted positively for the takeover of the airport.

Peab's profit was charged by a current deficit of SEK 10 million during the first quarter. In connection with the decision to close the airport in the second quarter further costs, amounting to SEK 40 million, charged Peab's profit, of which writing down goodwill was SEK 20 million. The finalized divestment does not entail any further effects on profit.
