Pearson : Oxford University & Pearson launch online programmes in sustainable business & law

London and Oxford, Friday 8th October 2021: The Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment at the University of Oxford has partnered with Pearson, the world's leading learning company, to launch two online programmes in January 2022.

The programmes will allow a global audience to access the Smith School's world leading sustainability research and teaching.

The two programmes are:

• The Future of Sustainable Business: Enterprise and the Environment, designed by Dr Caitlin McElroy and Dr Laurence Wainwright and Law
• Sustainability: Tackling Global Environmental Challenges, designed by Dr Aisha Saad at the School's Oxford Sustainable Law Programme.

They will, respectively, tackle topics such as sustainable finance, net zero targets and leadership for the future; and the intersection of law and sustainability, legal strategies for sustainability and science and the law.

They are both eight-week long programmes and will be offered on an open enrolment basis, running multiple times a year.

The programmes add to a growing list of online courses offered by Oxford University, with both Saïd Business School and the Blavatnik School of Government enhancing their online offerings this year.

Dr Caitlin McElroy, Programme Director at the Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment, said: "Our mission as a school is to equip organisations with the skills and knowledge necessary for tackling climate change. Pearson brings to the partnership 25 years of global education provision experience. It works with more than 40 universities around the world partnering on online degree programmes, recently announcing partnerships with both Wake Forest and Hawaii Pacific Universities, USA.

Pearson already works with the Blavatnik School of Government at the University of Oxford delivering short courses on Values and Data Driven Decision Making in policy development and implementation, as well as online degree programmes with other UK partners such as Ulster University and King's College London.
