Beverage company PepsiCo Inc. said it wants to replenish more water than the company uses by 2030.

PepsiCo said its foundation, with the organization WaterAid, is launching a $1 million program to bring families in Sub-Saharan Africa safe water.

To become net water positive, PepsiCo said it will use top water-use-efficiency standards at over 1,000 third-party and company-owned facilities. The company said it can stop using over 11 billion water liters a year by boosting the efficiency standard at sites it owns in high-risk watersheds.

PepsiCo is looking to bring safe water access by 2030 to 100 million people, it said. The company said it wants to adopt the Alliance for Water Stewardship Standard by 2025 in the high-water risk areas that it operates in.
