24-hour live event will feature more than 40 sessions exploring the latest scientific advances in the field of newborn screening

WHAT:PerkinElmer, Inc., a global leader committed to innovating for a healthier world, will host a Newborn Screening Virtual Summit to share the latest scientific advances in the field of newborn screening with a global audience of laboratory personnel, clinicians, researchers, regulators and parents. The 24-hour event will feature more than 40 presentations and live Q&A sessions presented in five languages by international experts and thought leaders in the field. The Summit is free of charge to attend, and registrants will have access to all recorded sessions through the month of December.

The Company has organized the Newborn Screening Virtual Summit to inform and educate individuals across the globe of the latest scientific advances in this field, including new and novel solutions for screening of various disorders, laboratory and workflow improvements and more.

Over the course of the 24-hour live stream, 40-plus sessions will be offered in one of five languages. There are country-specific sessions for attendees in China, Japan, Brazil, France and across Africa. Other sessions will focus on Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, molecular advances in newborn screening such as SMA and SCID detection, as well how COVID-19 has impacted newborn screening programs. The keynote address is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. ET and will be delivered by Professor Moshe Hod, chair of the Pregnancy & Non Communicable Diseases Committee for the International Federation of Obstetrics and Gynecology (FIGO) and professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Sackler Faculty of Medicine, Tel-Aviv University, Israel.
