The U.S. is considering new tariffs on approximately $3.1 billion of products from France, Germany, Spain, and the U.K., according to a document from the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative.

Products such as malt, beer, gin, vodka, olives, chocolate, trucks and machinery are under consideration for additional import duties of up to 100%, the document says.

At 1130 GMT, shares in French spirits makers Pernod Ricard SA and Remy Cointreau SA were down 1.8% and 3.3% respectively.
