SÃO PAULO--Petróleo Brasileiro said Tuesday that it was in talks with Brazilian chemical company Unigel Participações over cooperating in business markets related to fertilizers, green hydrogen and low-carbon projects.

The two companies have signed a non-binding, two-year non-disclosure agreement and plan to decide what projects they might approve after conducting technical analyses by business segment, said Petrobras, as the state-controlled Brazilian oil company is known.

The agreement with Unigel, which produces fertilizers, acrylic, and other chemical products, is part of Petrobras's strategic efforts, the oil giant said.
