Tronchetti Provera's Camfin increases stake in Pirelli

(Alliance News) - Camfin, the investment vehicle of Marco Tronchetti Provera, has increased its stake in Pirelli Spa, buying between Nov. 8 and 12 about 4 million shares, or 0.4 percent of the capital, at an average price of EUR5.128.

As daily Milano Finanza reported Thursday, the investment, totaling more than EUR20.5 million, brings Tronchetti's stake in Pirelli to 26.05 percent.

The strategy could continue in the coming months: the boards of Camfin and MTP Spa have already authorized further purchases, with the aim of bringing Tronchetti to 29.9 percent, close to the threshold for a takeover bid.
