The business registration and remote account opening service (BR'n'RAO) is now available to small and micro-sized business clients in over 5,770 Sber branches throughout Russia, said Deputy Chairman of the Sberbank Executive Board Anatoly Popov at the Eastern Economic Forum

Provided by Sberbank and the Sber ecosystem company Delovaya Sreda, BR'n'RAO lets users register as a sole proprietor or register an LLC with one founder and open a settlement account online, without going to the bank. This can be done in one of the following ways:

  • independently and online - to that end, you will need a Russian passport, an individual insurance account number (SNILS), a biometric foreign passport, and an NFC-enabled smartphone
  • at a Sberbank branch - Sber employees will help customers fill in all the forms and obtain a digital signature, as well as consult on the banking products geared toward starting and developing a business (in this case, you won't need a foreign passport and an NFC-enabled smartphone).

We have been working on the online business registration and account opening service for three years now. Thanks to the well-organized processes inside the bank and our close rapport with the Federal Tax Service of Russia, we have managed to nullify red tape. Since its launch, more than 213,000 entrepreneurs have registered their businesses through the service, and one-fifth have done this at a bank branch. This is due to the fact that not all clients have a biometric passport. Also, many people still need live communication and the opportunity to get advice and assistance from a bank specialist. That is why we are expanding the number of bank branches where this service is being provided to more than 5,700. On top of that, it does not matter whether the client registers as a sole proprietor or registers an LLC online or in a Sber branch, the state duty for registering a business and a commission for opening an account are not charged, so the service is not only convenient, but also free.
