Golden Mask online is taking place for the fifth time in the spring of 2022. Live streams of three productions recognized by the experts of the National Theater Awards will be available on the Okko platform, the general digital partner of the festival. Recordings of the performances will be available throughout the year free of charge to all registered users in the Golden Mask playlist. The program is supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.

The Golden Mask Online project premiered in 2018 and since then has been giving Russian viewers a unique opportunity to see the performances of the festival every year. The program of the project included drama, opera and ballet performances by a variety of theaters, from the legendary Tovstonogov's Bolshoi Drama Theater to the small theaterstudio called Gran in the city of Novokuibyshevsk.

Sber has been the general partner of the Golden Mask Festival since 2002. For the last three years, the company has been the general partner of Golden Mask online, with the project's performances streamed on Sber's digital platforms. In the spring of 2020 when theatres had to pause their operations because of the pandemic, Okko provided its platform to upload a collection of Golden Mask performances from previous years in the Art Online collection. In 2021, more than 900,000 viewers watched the Golden Mask online stream on the home page of the Rambler portal, a Rambler&Co media holding venue. In 2022, the program will be streamed for Okko online cinema viewers.

On March 1, the Golden Mask online program will open with Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens, a play by the Yekaterinburg-based Theater for young spectators. Rich in vibrant poetic imagery, the production of the creative team featuring director Roman Feodori and artist Daniil Akhmedov was included in the Children's Weekend program.

The Little Humpbacked Horse, a ballet by the Ural Opera Ballet Theatre will be streamed on April 3. The performance was nominated for the Awards in as many as eight categories. Choreographers Vyacheslav Samodurov and Anton Pimonov boldly intertwine classical and new choreography, a story familiar since childhood and modern urban culture, and both real and fabulous Urals.

On April 13, the Golden Mask online program will end with a stream of Time Out, a show by the Novosibirsk Red Torch Theater. This will be one of the most difficult performances to shoot in the history of the project. Director Pyotr Shereshevsky turned the everyday yet tragic story of the protagonist into a fascinating "movie" about each of us. The theater stage turns into a labyrinth/supermarket, which the characters settle in. Close-ups of the actors will be displayed online on the screen, which means viewers could guess not only the mood but also the hidden thoughts of the characters. The stream will attempt to show this complex multimedia picture in its entirety.
