Sberbank Charitable Foundation Investment to the Future has launched the application campaign for its Good New Year's Gift grant contest for nonprofit organizations.

The contest, designed to improve the quality of life and life prospects of orphaned and disabled children, is now in its seventh year. The volume of support for nonprofits, including Sber's contribution, amounted to RUB 38.8 mn last year. Grants of RUB 450,000 were awarded to 93 organizations from 41 Russian regions.

This year, nonprofits will be able to apply for grants of up to RUB 1 mn. The foundation has more than doubled the amount of funding for projects, while setting new deadlines for their implementation - from eight to 12 months. These measures should allow nonprofits to structure their work with children in a systemic and longer-term perspective, thereby achieving sustainable results for the children.

Another new feature of the competition is the expansion of the project activities to be funded by the foundation: in particular, in the area of helping orphaned and disabled children, the competition will support programs that apply developmental and behavioral approaches. Nonprofits whose target audience is disabled children are eligible to receive grants for projects to develop social and communication skills, including the use of alternative and supplementary communication, accommodation training, or preparation for independent or assisted living.

Pyotr Polozhevets, executive director of Sberbank Charitable Foundation Investment to the Future:

"We hope that the opportunities the contest offers will enable us to achieve sustainable results in one of our key goals - creating equal opportunities for every child to develop and socialize in modern society."

The application process has been fully automated since 2020: nonprofit organizations can fill out their application and submit it to the organizers on the project website. The website also contains information and materials about the Good New Year's Gift grant contest.

The foundation is accepting applications from November 16 to December 14, 2021. The winners will be announced by February 26, 2022.
