PJSC Sberbank : Residents of Russian Far East have signed 127,000+ risk insurance contracts since early 2021

At the Eastern Economic Forum, First Deputy Chairman of the Sberbank Executive Board Alexander Vedyakhin shared that residents of the Far Eastern Federal District have taken out over 127,000 contracts under various agreements with SberInsurance since the start of 2021. The most common programs are accident insurance, real estate insurance, and insurance of funds on accounts.

Real estate programs, including mortgage insurance, and optional insurance are the most popular among residents of the region. Approximately 65,000 contracts were signed under these programs in the first eight months of 2021. The Protect Your Finances program, which helps clients protect the funds on their Sber bank cards and accounts, took second place with 53,000 contracts. Rounding up the top three is Injury Protection, the accident insurance program, with 9,000 contracts.

SberInsurance payments under real estate insurance policies rose 41% between January and August 2021 y-o-y. The largest sum - over RUB 2 mn - went to a resident of the Jewish Autonomous Oblast, who had structural damage to their house due to flooding. A SberInsurance client from the Blagoveshchensky District of Amur Region also received a large sum for damage to the structural elements of their house after a flood - approximately RUB 740,000. Another client from Khabarovsk received RUB 566,000 for flood-related damage to their house.
