Starting May 7, 2021, Sberbank will be raising the interest rate for Additional Interest savings accounts and prolonging them until June 30, 2021. The maximum interest rate for this type of savings account will be five percent per annum (when placing funds for a period of two to three years).

The rate depends on the amount placed in and the maturity term of the savings account, the current and maximum balance of the accounts the client has had with the bank over the past three months, and whether the savings account was opened online or offline.

Deposits start at RUB 100,000. Clients can open a savings account at bank branches and through the SberBank Online mobile app. Clients cannot add funds to or withdraw funds from the account (except for interest) until the maturity term specified in the agreement has been reached. Accounts can be opened for the following terms: three, five, 12, 18, 24, or 36 months.

Ahead of the 76th anniversary of the Soviet victory in WWII, Sberbank will be launching Contribution to Victory, a new savings account that will give clients the opportunity to provide charitable assistance to former combatants.

Clients can open a savings account May 7 - 21 via SberBank Online for a period of five, 12, 18, 24, or 36 months with an interest rate starting at 4.4%. Deposits start at RUB 50,000.

One ruble for every RUB 1,000 in the savings account will be donated to the Memory of Generations foundation, which provides high tech medical care to veterans of all military operations in which Russia participated. The bank will use its own funds to double clients' contributions to the Memory of Generations foundation.

In case of early termination of the savings account, contributions will not be made to the foundation.

SberBank is improving savings account conditions so that our clients have more opportunities to build on their savings. The launch of the celebratory savings account with increased rates in time for May 9 is now a tradition that Sber upholds. Last year this offer was met with great interest on the part of our clients. The savings account provides people with an opportunity to help those who defended and championed the interests of our country. Clients opening a Contribution to Victory savings account are, together with Sberbank, playing their own part in the fight to preserve the memory of the feats accomplished by these heroes: we must not forget our veterans.
