Sber and Climate Governance Initiative Russia are holding an online discussion called The Role of the Banking Industry in Facilitating Climate Change Mitigation and the Transition to a Low-Carbon Global Economy on May 13. Tatiana Zavyalova, Senior Vice President for ESG, will represent Sberbank as a speaker.

Discussion participants will address the initiatives undertaken by financial institutions to reduce the negative environmental impact and facilitate the transition to a low-carbon economy. Speakers are going to discuss how banks in their roles as creditors, investors, advisers and heads of supply chains can influence the business practices and greenhouse gas emissions of other corporate actors. Panelists will discuss how the full potential of the banking industry can be mobilized.
