Previously, Swafford was the CISO of Webster Bank and CTO of Forcepoint, LLC, as well as being a cybersecurity practitioner for asset management and consulting firms, including Booz Allen Hamilton.

Swafford is named on several blockchain and user behavior patents, and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Legal Communications from Washburn University.
