PNC Bank executive Chris Kalin will take over as North Florida regional president for the bank upon Brian Bucher's retirement later this year, Kalin, a Jacksonville native who graduated from the University of North Florida before earning an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, will take over as market president October 7. Now serving as SVP of Corporate Banking, Kalin joined PNC in 2021 following the acquisition of BBVA Compass by PNC. Prior to BBVA, he spent nearly 10 years at Wells Fargo. He will be replacing Bucher, who joined PNC in 1982.

Over his decades with the bank, Bucher served as regional president in Northwest Ohio, Northern Alabama and North Florida. Kalin's background includes a variety of middle market and corporate banking roles, with responsibilities that included credit analysis, commercial strategy, portfolio management, relationship management and market expansion. He moved to Jacksonville in 2017 to become president of the bank's Port Cities region, overseeing Jacksonville,  Charleston and Savannah.

He added the Northern Florida regional presidency title after the BBVA acquisition.
