MEDINA, Minn. (AP) _ Polaris Inc. (PII) on Tuesday reported second-quarter net income of $158.4 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.

The Medina, Minnesota-based company said it had net income of $2.52 per share. Earnings, adjusted for amortization costs and non-recurring costs, were $2.70 per share.

The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of eight analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $2.23 per share.

The snowmobile and ATV maker posted revenue of $2.12 billion in the period, which also beat Street forecasts. Six analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $2.1 billion.

Polaris Inc expects full-year earnings in the range of $9.35 to $9.60 per share, with revenue in the range of $8.38 billion to $8.5 billion.

Polaris Inc shares have risen 46% since the beginning of the year. The stock has increased 46% in the last 12 months.
