Porsche AG said Monday that it has appointed Markus-Christian Eberl as the new chief executive officer of its Porsche Engineering subsidiary, effective from June 1.

The German car maker said that Mr. Eberl will replace current Porsche Engineering CEO Peter Schaefer, who is set to retire on May 31. Mr. Eberl is currently vice president of technical conformity in the research-and-development department of Porsche, the company said.

In addition, the German car maker said it also appointed Dirk Philipp as managing director of commerce and chief operating officer of Porsche Engineering effective Jan. 1. Mr. Philipp had been director of finance and administration at Porsche Engineering since 2011.
