PostNL N.V. Reports Earnings Results for the Third Quarter and Nine Months Ended October 02, 2021

PostNL N.V. reported earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended October 02, 2021. For the third quarter, the company reported sales was EUR 723 million compared to EUR 738 million a year ago. Net income was EUR 12 million compared to EUR 24 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was EUR 0.023 compared to EUR 0.049 a year ago. Basic earnings per share was EUR 0.021 compared to EUR 0.049 a year ago.
For the nine months, sales was EUR 2,513 million compared to EUR 2,220 million a year ago. Net income was EUR 189 million compared to EUR 52 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was EUR 0.333 compared to EUR 0.115 a year ago. Basic earnings per share was EUR 0.377 compared to EUR 0.106 a year ago.
PostNL N.V. specializes in supplying mail, parcels and e-commerce services. The company also provides services in the area of data and document management, direct marketing and fulfilment. Net sales (including intragroup) break down by activity as follows:
- parcel delivery (58.3%): in 2023, PostNL N.V. delivered 343 million parcels in Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg;
- mail delivery in the Netherlands (35.4%): 1,745 million postal items processed in 2023;
- other (6.3%).
Net sales are distributed geographically as follows: the Netherlands (85.3%), Europe (8.5%) and other (6.2%).
