Poyry : Pöyry presents OpenBIM-Workflow for Infrastructure at the 17th buildingSMART User Day in Düsseldorf, Germany

During the 17th buildingSMART User Day in Düsseldorf on March 29th, experts from Pöyry Deutschland GmbH, together with IB&T Software GmbH, Allplan Deutschland GmbH/Sommerfeld, Bechmann GmbH, ceapoint aec technologies GmbH, formitas AG and competence center BIM e.V., hosted a workshop on an OpenBIM-workflow for infrastructure projects. This initiative was embedded into the 'Praxis openBIM-Workflow' workshop, which was coordinated by ccBIM e.V., a collaboration of software and system companies in Germany.

The 'Praxis OpenBIM-Workflow' workshop introduced participants to the idea of an Open-BIM-Workflow, which defines BIM integration of software products from different software houses, sustaining a common BIM model with continuous data exchange. The team demonstrated in a practical and comprehensible way, the different possibilities of BIM execution in projects, which was illustrated by examples of German transportation infrastructure (road/bridge). 'I am very happy to see what can be achieved by an OpenBIM approach by a highly motivated team, collaborating in a transparent way across companies and software solutions', says Axel Brommer, Business Area Head Digital Services, Germany at Pöyry.

Pöyry Deutschland started their large scale implementation program for BIM three years ago and is one of the early adopters for digitalized planning in German infrastructure projects. Pöyry became a member of the German Chapter of the international network for Building Information Modeling (BIM) buildingSMART in March 2018. Since then, Pöyry has actively contributed their BIM competencies to professional events and working groups.
