Leading health imaging company Pro Medicus Limited [ASX: PME] today announced that the American College of Radiology (ACR) and University of Florida (UF) have chosen Pro Medicus' Visage 7 imaging technology to assist in training and assessing radiology residents throughout the US.

As part of the agreement, Pro Medicus' wholly-owned US subsidiary, Visage Imaging Inc, will provide the ACR with Visage 7 technology to be used as a key component of its state-of-the-art assessment platform for Emergent/Critical Care Imaging SIMulation (SIM). The agreement follows a nine-month, performance-based evaluation of multiple image viewers by the College and University.

'The lack of consistency, capability and performance of our prior image viewers had presented significant challenges to the efficiency of SIMulation delivery,' said Dr Anthony A. Mancuso, chairman and professor of radiology in the UF College of Medicine and program co-leader.

'Visage stands to improve the image viewing experience of the SIMulation, creating a professional, clinically appropriate and an even more realistic simulated interpretation environment. We are delighted with that prospect,' said Dr Linda Lanier, UF associate professor of radiology and associate chairman of the department, and program co-leader.

Dr Sam Hupert, Pro Medicus Chief Executive Officer said 'We are honoured to contribute to the advancement of diagnostic radiology resident training and assessment, and improving patient safety and healthcare quality. The ACR's selection of Visage 7 represents the latest expert validation of the breakthrough, world-class capabilities Visage has brought to enterprise imaging. Now residents in both civilian and military roles throughout the US will have the very best training tools available to them as part of the ACR/UF SIM program.'
