Procter & Gamble's chief executive will step down from the role before the end of this year, making way for a familiar face at the company to fill the role. David Taylor will be stepping down from the role on Nov. 1 after six years, and vice chairman and COO Jon Moeller will assume leadership of the Cincinnati-based consumer goods giant. Taylor will become executive chairman on Nov. 1. No reason was given for his departure. As executive chairman, Taylor will lead the board of directors of P&G and provide advice and counsel to Moeller and P&G leadership. Shailesh Jejurikar has been named chief operating officer, effective Oct. 1. He currently serves as CEO of P&G's Fabric & Home Care sector, the firm's large business unit.
