MIDLAND, Texas (AP) _ ProPetro Holding Corp. (PUMP) on Tuesday reported a loss of $8.5 million in its second quarter.

The Midland, Texas-based company said it had a loss of 8 cents per share.

The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 10 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 6 cents per share.

The oilfield services company posted revenue of $216.9 million in the period, topping Street forecasts. Ten analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $203.4 million.

ProPetro shares have increased almost 5% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $7.73, an increase of 40% in the last 12 months.
