With this purchase, Prosegur rounds off its area of international services and expands its destinations and network of international service partners
Madrid, 12 January 2016.- The world's bellwether in private security Prosegur has completed a full asset acquisition of the company MIV Gestión, S.A (MIV). This company is a benchmark in its own sector of activity, specialising in transporting valuable and vulnerable assets internationally. From its offices in Madrid and Barcelona, MIV handles services for its clients in Spain, Portugal and Andorra. With this acquisition, Prosegur has strengthened its International Transport business, an area in which MIV has a solid track record and highly qualified staff.
The business of both companies is particularly complementary, which will permit Prosegur to develop the International Transport area, a business in which MIV is a genuine specialist. MIV primarily offers a doorstep-to-doorstep export service for final clients and destination airport-doorstep services for companies. The company's client portfolio includes other security companies, jewellers, bank card providers, etc. The cargo carried by MIV is particularly prominent, namely: precious metals (gold and silver), diamonds, high-end watches and jewellery, foreign currency, bank cards, electronic components and confidential documents. MIV has distinguished itself and earned market recognition by achieving an elevated degree of adaptation to each type of dispatch.
With this acquisition, Prosegur will extend its international network in view of the contacts that MIV has already established. Moreover, Prosegur will benefit from incorporating MIV know-how and experience, as the company comprises professionals with an in-depth understanding of the jewellery sector and other valuable cargo. It should be noted that MIV is an Accredited Cargo Agent and fulfils the requirements of the National Air Transport Security Plan The company is also a certified Authorised Economic Operator (AEO), a certification issued by the European Union, which helps reduce costs and streamline processing at customs.
