Prosus reported higher revenue for its fiscal half year, boosted by strong growth in its core e-commerce businesses.
The Amsterdam-listed investment group--which focuses on consumer internet companies--posted a rise in group revenue from continuing operations for the six months ended Sept. 30 to $2.96 billion from $2.56 billion for the same period a year earlier.
E-commerce revenue rose 16% to $3.0 billion, while adjusted earnings before interest and taxes--previously known as trading profit--swung to a profit of $181 million. Consolidated e-commerce profitability in the first half significantly exceeded that of the prior 12 months, the company said.
Core headline earnings saw double-digit growth to $3.5 billion, driven by strong improvements in e-commerce and Tencent performance.
Prosus expects to deliver revenue of $6.2 billion for fiscal 2025, maintaining organic growth above 20% and $400 million in adjusted earnings before interest and taxes from e-commerce operations.
Last October, Chief Executive Fabricio Bloisi's 100-day letter said the group plans to create an additional $100 billion of value through strategic investments while it remains focused on generating returns for its shareholders.
