19/03/2013 : Over 32 key suppliers were invited to meet with Unilever senior executives to discuss and explore strategic partnerships, innovation ideas and how to deliver Unilever Indonesia's growth targets

Jakarta,19 March 2013 - Unilever today launched its first Indonesian Partner to Win Event in Jakarta. Over 32 key suppliers were invited to meet with Unilever senior executives to discuss and explore strategic partnerships, innovation ideas and how to deliver Unilever Indonesia's growth targets by investing in capacity and capability. Unilever has been operating in Indonesia for almost 80 years and strategic partnerships with suppliers are instrumental to further grow the business sustainably for another 80 years.

Marc Engel, Chief Procurement Officer Unilever said,"Unilever has a bold ambition to double the size of its business whilst reducing its environmental footprintand increase our positive social impact.We are making good progress in both areas.To achieve our long-term ambition, it is vital that we work in closer partnership with our strategic suppliers to ensure faster innovations and invest sustainably throughout our value chain.Partnerships with liked minded suppliers in Indonesia are instrumental to achieve our long-term ambitions".

Maurits Lalisang, President Director PT Unilever Indonesia, Tbk said, "Unilever's growth in Indonesia has been very satisfactory. In 2000 - 2011 we recorded CGAR (compounded annual growth rate) of 15.3 percent. Over the last three years Unileverinvestedover Rp 4 trillionto support our growthin Indonesia.We believe that Indonesia is a key factor in Unilever's growth and development, and through conducting this event, our hope is that our strategic suppliers also invest in the long-term growth of Indonesia."

M. Chatib Basri,S.E., M.Ec., Chairman of Investment Coordinating Board RI, welcomed the Partner to Win held by Unilever. He said "The investment activities have made a major contribution to the economic growth of Indonesia. In 2011Indonesian economy grew by 6.5% and6.2% in 2012.It is currently the second fastest growing economy among G20 members.The growthwas alsoreflected in the investment performance in Indonesia in 2012, where the FDI (Foreign Direct Investment) reached $24 billion, up 26.07% year-on-year, a record high".

The event inJakarta,Indonesia is part of a seriesinUnilever Global's Partner to Win programme.Previousevents were held inLondon,Istanbul,Durban and Mumbai. In June, the 2013 globalannual summit will be in Singapore.
