Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works took awards at the Silver Threads 2021 Grand National Corporate Media Contest in the categories "Best Corporate Account in Social Networks" and "Best Production Tourism Project".

"Silver Threads is one of the most prestigious corporate media contests in Russia (it has been held since 2008). Nearly 150 media projects take part in the "Silver Threads" National Contests every year.

In 2021 MMK was among the winners in two nominations. MMK's page on the social network VK was noted as the best corporate account in social networks, and the industrial tourism project "Steel Route. MMK tours" became the sole winner in the nomination "The best industrial tourism project".

"We develop corporate media, work with external audiences in all possible formats and strive for maximum openness. I am glad that our efforts are highly appreciated, also by outside experts," said Vladimir Ruga, Deputy General Director for External Communications, commenting on the contest results.

MMK's official VK account in 2021 demonstrated significant growth in the number of subscribers (up to more than 10 thousand people) and their engagement: in many ways it was helped by the creative contest "We are Metallurgists. Battle of the Shops", dedicated to Metallurgist's Day. Besides, MMK's page always features the latest company news, useful information for employees of MMK and residents of Magnitogorsk, as well as live answers to questions - the admins are actively communicating with the subscribers. As for industrial tourism, MMK opened its doors to tourists in 2018 as part of the Steel Route project. Currently there are seven tourist routes - two for children and five designed for adults. In total, since the beginning of the project, more than 17 thousand people have visited the industrial site of the plant, including 3.7 thousand children.
