Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK) is taking part in The Big 5 Show, an international exhibition of construction technologies, equipment and materials, which opened yesterday in Dubai (UAE).

The Big 5 is the largest construction industry event in the Middle East. The exhibition will be held from 12 to 16 September. In recent years, MMK has been a regular exhibitor at the event, which is due to the importance of the Middle Eastern market in the Company's export structure. In 2020, shipments of MMK's steel products to the Middle East amounted to 535,000 tonnes, almost a third of the Company's total exports. At MMK's stand, visitors will be able to learn about the technological capabilities and characteristics of the products of one of Russia's largest steelmaking companies. The main focus of the exhibition is on construction industry products: hot and cold-rolled coils, long products and coated steel products. The range of high-strength and wear-resistant steels produced and sold by MMK under the MAGSTRONG brand will also be presented.

The Big 5 Show has been held annually since 1982 and is supported by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, a number of industry media, major companies and construction associations. It features national displays from major exporting nations in the East and West, as well as stands of the most important regional property developers, contractors, importers and distributors. For almost 40 years, The Big 5 exhibition has served as a business, information and communication platform for the construction industry, a gateway to the construction market in the Middle East and North Africa. Last year, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the show did not take place. The previous event in 2019 attracted more than 2,500 exhibitors from 66 countries and was attended by over 68,000 local and international construction professionals from 134 countries. This year, the organisers also expect more than 1,200 exhibitors from 50 countries to exhibit in 20 pavilions, despite the ongoing coronavirus-related restrictions.
