OJSC Raspadskaya reported production and sales results for the third quarter and nine months of 2016. Production of raw coal reduced by 7.5% quarter-on-quarter to 2.431 million tonnes in the third quarter of 2016. Raw coal production fell due to planned longwall move at field No. 4 at the Raspadskaya mine (down 16% quarter-on-quarter), as well as a lack of board-and-pillar blocks ready at Raspadskaya-Koksovaya. At the same time, output at Razrez Raspadsky increased by 4% quarter-on-quarter.

Coal concentrate sales fell 9% year-on-year to 1.443 million tonnes in third quarter of 2016. Raw coal sales came to 103,000, up 70% quarter-on- quarter. The rise was mainly driven by an increase in domestic sales of GZhO and GZh-grade coal for power generation.

For the nine months, raw coal production of 7.314 million tonnes, a decrease of 6% form the last year.

For the nine months, coal concentrate sales fell 10% year-on-year to 4.556 million tonnes compared to last year. Raw coal sales came to 230,000, a decrease of 71% from the last year.
