Acron Group, a leading mineral fertiliser producer in Russia and globally, has introduced a tracking and management system for the railway fleet at its Acron (Veliky Novgorod), Dorogobuzh, and NWPC facilities.

MC-Tracking from MC-Service Engineering provides automated fleet utilisation data and generates a range of reports on Acron Group's rail cars, both owned and leased.

According to Igor Bogdan, Acron Vice President for Transport and Logistics, 'The new railway fleet tracking system is an effective tool for managing the Group's business processes to deliver improvements in operating and financial performance'.

The Group's transportation specialists analyse the efficiency of rolling stock utilisation and monitor downtime, trips, and empty runs, which ultimately results in better transportation planning and increased profit from fleet operation.

Denis Guzanov, Head of Acron's IT Department, said: 'The fleet tracking software has been successfully integrated into the Group's IT landscape and linked with the digital core - the ERP system in the IAS - which makes railway tracking service a one-stop process with a guaranteed SLA'.

For reference: In 2019, Acron Group transported 8 million tonnes of raw materials and finished products by rail, using its own fleet of 1,700 cars and over 2,500 leased cars.
