Public Joint Stock Acron : Over 400 Children Visit Dorogobuzh Summer Camp in 2021

Over three sessions from 10 June through 15 August, 426 children from Smolensk region attended the Lastochka summer camp owned by Dorogobuzh (a member of Acron Group). Of those, 282 campers were the children and grandchildren of employees working for Dorogobuzh and its subsidiaries. Due to pandemic restrictions, the occupancy rate was 75% this year, as approved by the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing (Rospotrebnadzor) for all summer camps in Russia.

The camp took careful measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19, including purchasing sanitiser dispensers and other necessary equipment, implementing personal protective measures, and limiting parental visits. Lastochka also introduced continuous health monitoring and temperature checks twice a day with infrared thermometers. Daily schedules included as many outdoor activities as possible. All the above measures helped prevent infection at the camp.

Lastochka has always been a safe destination, with 24-hour security, video surveillance, evacuation alert systems, and fire drills. The camp also implements mite and rodent control measures before each session. The State Inspectorate for Small Vessels for Smolensk region issued a sanitary and epidemiological inspection report for Rubezhnoye Lake declaring it safe for swimming.

Most children attended the camp during the third, themed session from 26 July through 15 August. The session, called 'We want to set all the records', brought together members of the Russian Airborne Forces' patriotic club, judo and sambo teams from the Children and Youth Sports School in Verkhnedneprovsky, the sambo team from Yartsevo, and local academic stars.

The camp also welcomed children from low-income families, who received vouchers from the Smolensk Regional Department for Social Development, Education, and Science. Dorogobuzh has cooperated with the Department for several years now and signed two contracts in 2021 to support 102 young athletes and 30 children in need.

Lastochka summer camp was built in 1966 and is located in a picturesque wood on the shore of Rubezhnoye Lake in Dorogobuzh district.

In 2021, 97% of camp attendees reported improved health outcomes, which was 2.8% higher than the average in Smolensk region.
