Rosseti FGC UES to renovate power equipment at the Krasnoyarsk Territory south key substation

07/12/2021

Rosseti FGC UES has begun upgrading the Shushenskaya 220 kV master substation in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. A new 63 MVA autotransformer and modern relay protection devices will be installed. This will improve the reliability of electricity supply to the southern regions of the territory, with about 51k residents, and the transit of energy to the Republic of Tuva. The project investments will amount to 209 mn rubles. The completion of the work is planned for 2021.

The capacity of the Shushenskaya 220 kV master substation is 190 MVA. The facility has two autotransformers and one transformer, intended for converting the voltage level in the network. During the upgrade, one of the obsolete units will be replaced with a state-of-the-art autotransformer of similar capacity: 63 MVA.

Also, Russian-made modern microprocessor complexes of relay protection with built-in functions of self-diagnostics and registration of emergency events will be installed. They will protect the substation equipment from short circuits.

Shushenskaya 220 kV master substation provides electricity to consumers in the Ermakovsky and Shushensky districts of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, including the electrical boiler house, Shushenskoye memorial estate, as well as Ergaki National Park infrastructure facilities. The substation is also a key link in the energy transit route from the Krasnoyarsk Territory to the Republic of Tuva, 'Ergaki - Shushenskaya Master SS - Turan'.
