Rosseti FGC UES to revamp HV equipment at 10 feed centers near Moscow

02/15/2021

Work has been started to install 71 state-of-the-art HV bushings at 10 big substations that feed power to the infrastructure and localities in the western, southern, and south-eastern parts of the Moscow region. The amount of investments in the project is 46.6 mn rubles.

HV bushings are structural parts of substation power equipment units such as transformers, autotransformers and shunt reactors, as well as switching equipment, e.g. breakers. A bushing provides the mechanical attachment of the current lead conductor and the necessary level of dielectric strength of the structure. Their technical condition is vital for the reliable performance of the substation and stable delivery of power to consumers.

Lately, work has been started at Drovnino 220 kV substation that provides electricity to the Mozhaysk urban district populated by more than 70 thousand people.

Also, work will be performed at the Moscow Energy Ring's facility, Pakhra 500 kV substation, which feeds electricity to Domodedovo, the airport and a considerable part of the Podolsk urban district; at Golutvin and Peski 220 kV substations that provide power for the Kolomna urban district; at Osetr 220 kV substation in Zaraysk and Nezhino 220 kV substation whose failsafe operation is essential for the reliable power supply of industrial enterprises and household consumers of Gzhel town. Replacement of bushings is planned at 220 kV Dmitrov substation that feeds power to the namesake urban district; 220 kV Radischevo substation that provides electricity to consumers in Solnechnogorsk; 220 kV Kedrovo in Naro-Fominsk urban district; 220 kV Bugry in Chekhov urban district; and 220 kV Dalnyaya that manages the power flows between the Moscow and Vladimir power systems.

Instead of the oil-and-paper insulation, new generation bushings of Russian production will be installed with solid RIP (resin impregnated paper) insulation manufactured from the material obtained on the basis of crepe paper dried in vacuum and impregnated with an epoxy compound. Bushings with such an insulation are maintenance-free and have high mechanical and thermal strength. The service life of the new equipment is at least 25 years.
